As of Wednesday, July 6, 2016, the Florida Center for Nursing is suspending the Florida Healthcare Simulation Alliance. Regrettably, we must recognize that income is not adequate to sustain this program.

We are suspending rather than closing because there is a core group of FHSA Steering Committee members who have been active in and supportive of the Alliance who are exploring alternative structures to continue the mission. A final decision on the status of the Alliance will be made on or before August 31, 2016. If you wish to participate in this effort and/or to remain on the email list for information about a new structure contact:

What does this mean for current members/sponsors?
  • The website will remain live but without any active links for membership or upcoming events.
  • When a final decision on the status of the FHSA is made, you will be notified including information on how any existing membership/sponsorship funds will be expended.
  • Regional groups who have been active can function independent of the state body and continue to meet and carry on any activities or work that they have identified.

We are grateful for Dr. Keith Samuels and Dr. Laura Gonzalez who have each served as directors of the Alliance. I can attest to their passion for the vision of the Alliance and their commitment, giving well above the amount of time and effort for which they were reimbursed.
